Kakapo’s description
I am the biggest parrot in the world, that’s why I can’t fly ! However, I am an excellent climber and I can walk during a very long time. Men love me because I am very expressive.

Where do I live ?
I live on small islands all around New-Zealand.
Which threats ?
As I don’t fly, I can’t flee when a predator comes. Yet, cats and dogs which didn’t exist on my island came with men. Moreover, I am pretty shy, I breed rarely… It’s not that easy to perpetuate the specie !
Kiwiwho’s word to save the kakapo
The protecting program formed in 1989 is a success ! We’ve been placed on an island without predators. We’ve almost extincted in the 1980’s but today we are more than 130.
